Energy Storage & Hydrogen Fueling Infrastructure Funding Opportunities Released by the California Energy Commission

Hydrogen Infrastructure Progress Report Also Released

In the last weeks of December, the California Energy Commission released two grant funding opportunities (GFOs) and one report that are important in the rollout of hydrogen fueling infrastructure and fuel cell electric passenger cars, and potentially key to the stimulus of renewable hydrogen production in California.

CaFCP 20th Anniversary

CaFCP 20th Anniversary

Earlier this year, we quietly celebrated our 20th anniversary as the California Fuel Cell Partnership in a blog post. We were launched on Earth Day 1999 with a goal to bring together automakers, government, private industry and others to further fuel cell technology for transportation.

Last week, we culminated our 20th anniversary with a celebration in Sacramento.

Oakland Hydrogen Station Opens

The Oakland hydrogen station is open for business! It is the eleventh retail hydrogen station to open in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Oakland hydrogen station - True Zero

The True Zero station, developed by First Element, will be open 24 hours a day and is located at 350 Grand Avenue, Oakland, CA 94610.

Sacramento Hydrogen Station Opens -#40

The Sacramento hydrogen station is open for business! It is the 40th retail hydrogen station in California and the third to open in the greater Sacramento area.

Sacramento hydrogen station - Shell

The station, developed by Shell, will be open 24 hours a day and is located at 3510 Fair Oaks Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95864.

Reflecting the ongoing evolution of hydrogen stations across California and the growing number of fuel cell electric cars (more than 6,500), the station is one of  a few that has two fueling positions (aka two nozzles) at H70.

CaFCP Celebrates 20 Years of Collaboration

On April 22, 1999, stakeholders representing automakers, government and private industry launched the California Fuel Cell Partnership, with the goal of furthering development of fuel cell electric vehicle technology and hydrogen fueling infrastructure.

Twenty years later, our collaboration has grown to include local, state and federal government agencies, automakers, fuel cell manufacturers, hydrogen station developers and operators, hydrogen producers, transit agencies, universities and others. We work together to further the commercialization of fuel cell cars, buses and trucks, expand the hydrogen fueling network and increase the production of zero-carbon hydrogen.
